Account Onboarding

Below is general information for you to ensure that you get the most out of your account with The Lever. Let us know if you have any problems or questions by emailing us at support@levernews.com.

EMAILS: You will receive our posts right in your inbox. You have control over which emails you receive from us each week. To do so, make sure you “Log In” to LeverNews.com and go to your account page, where you can click on the “Manage” button next to Newsletters. You will be taken to your email preferences, where you will be able to select which posts you receive from us.

To ensure our emails don’t end up getting blocked or sent to your spam folder, please add editor@levernews.com to your email provider’s safe sender list.

Here’s how to do so in Gmail:

  • On your phone: Tap the three dots at the top right of this email, click “Move to” then click “Primary” or “Important.”
  • On your computer: Drag this email into the “Primary” or “Important” tab near the top left of your screen.

Here’s how to do so in Apple mail:

  • Tap on our email address at the top of this email and select “Add to VIPs.”
  • On your phone: Tap the three dots at the top right of this email, click “Move to” then click “Primary” or “Important.”
  • On your computer: Drag this email into the “Primary” or “Important” tab near the top left of your screen.

For those using Gmail, please also make sure our emails aren't going into your Promotions tab. If they are, do the following:

On desktop:

  • Click on the email and drag it to their Primary inbox.
  • When a dialog box asks whether they want this action performed for every message from this sender, click “Yes.”

On mobile:

  • Hold the finger on the letter until a check mark appears.
  • Tap the three dots at the top right of the screen.
  • Select “Move to” and choose “Primary.”


COMMENTING: For paid subscribers, you will now be able to comment on our posts and participate in subscriber-only forums. To do so, click on the “Click Here To Comment” button at the top and bottom of each email post you receive, and you will be directed to the online comment section for that story.

CHANGING/UPGRADING: If you wish to change your membership level, or if you are a monthly subscriber and want to upgrade to an annual subscription or a sustaining subscription, click here to access your account and click the “Change” button next to your plan (ex: Supporter). This is also where you can cancel your subscription, or turn off automatic renewal.

SUBSCRIPTION INFO: Monthly subscriptions automatically renew each month. Annual subscriptions automatically renew at the end of the one-year subscription period. Annual subscribers will receive an email notice about that renewal prior to the end of the subscription period. When in your account page, you can turn off automatic subscription renewal by clicking the “Change” button next to your plan, and then clicking “Cancel subscription.” Don’t worry; once you do so, your subscription benefits will still continue until the end of the subscription period.
