🤐 Silencing advocacy. The Trump administration just disabled an online tool used by advocacy groups and others to submit public comments on proposed changes to federal regulations. Since regulations.gov launched in 2003, any person, group, or business has been able to submit their comment letters online to be taken into consideration for final rules. The Trump administration eliminated a third-party interface that allowed groups like nonprofits to more easily submit bulk comment letters from their supporters. Now, concerned citizens and advocacy organizations will have to individually submit their comments.
- Trump has already rolled back numerous consumer-protection and labor regulations, including anti-fraud rules and minimum wage increases for federal contractors.
