🤖 The AI regulation ban has reentered the chat. After the Senate almost unanimously struck down a federal preemption on all state laws regulating artificial intelligence, the Trump administration is seeking to backdoor the provision back into play. In an “AI Action Plan” released today, the White House pledged to secure America’s “global leadership in AI” by removing red tape — including by directing federal agencies to withhold AI-related discretionary funding if states’ “regulatory regimes” are deemed too harsh.
