😁 It’s almost Cuover. In a stunning upset, democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani is predicted to win New York City’s Democratic primary for mayor, beating former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his Wall Street-backed $25 million super PAC so decidedly that Cuomo conceded early. But before Mamdani can officially take the mayorship, he’ll need to defeat the establishment again on the general ballot: Cuomo is already hinting he’ll join current mayor Eric Adams and run as an independent, a tactic used by the Democratic establishment before to crush successful progressive primary challengers.

  • Last week, we asked Mamdani how he plans to fight back against the corporate establishment should he win. Listen to his response on Lever Time.
